We joined the climate and anti-fracking bloc at the #Tories Out National Demo in Manchester

Thanks to John for this photo

We were happy to join the #Tories Out demo in Manchester on Sunday 1st October.

It’s estimated that 30,000 people took to the streets to oppose austerity and divisive Conservative policies.

We joined the climate and anti-fracking feed-in demonstration that marched from Salford to the Castlefields area.

Following that, we got a lot of interest in our Theresa May and Sajid Javid stunt before joining the main march carrying the ‘One Million Climate Jobs’ / ‘No Coalition of Climate Chaos’ banner.

Media coverage of the demonstration here and here.

The march came at the right time – coming at the end of a week of staunch resistance at Kirby Misperton (not to mention on-going protest at PNR) and a few days after a legal challenge was launched about the Government’s failure to increase the carbon reduction target of the Climate Change Act in line with the Paris Climate Agreement.
