Thanks to Amin for this graphic.
We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who signed the letters to Yorkshire and Humber MEPs about the way they voted – or didn’t vote- on TTIP last year.
The letters (TTIP letters to MEPs)* were signed by 67 people from across the Yorkshire and Humber region which just beat the record that we’d set with our last set of letters to MEPs.
Signatories mentioned a number of groups that they were involved in, but not necessarily signing on behalf of. These included Baildon Friends of the Earth, Calderdale 38 Degrees, Dewsbury Keep Our NHS Public, Global Justice Bradford, Global Justice Leeds, Hull Friends of the Earth, Kirklees Campaign Against Climate Change, Leeds Against TTIP, Mastt (Marsden and Slaithwaite Transition Town), North Kirklees NHS Support Group, NUT, Sheffield Climate Alliance, Sheffield Friends of the Earth, Unite and UNISON.
The letters were sent to MEPs last week by email and post. Signatories may get personal replies (the last time we did this Labour MEPs wrote to all signatories) but if MEPs reply just to us, we’ll share these with our network.
This was a project of the Yorkshire and Humber Network Against TTIP. If you’d like to get involved, the network is next meeting on Saturday 7th May from 2pm-5pm. We will meet in the West Yorkshire Playhouse near the coffee bar. This is on left hand side as you enter the Playhouse and is directly above the entrance to the Courtyard Theatre.
* Note: these versions do not include the signatories’ personal details.
