WITH THE KIND SUPPORT OF GLOBAL JUSTICE NOW
“By comparison to what it could have been, it’s a miracle. By comparison to what it should have been, it’s a disaster.” George Monbiot
“What if confronting the climate crisis is the best chance we’ll ever get to build a better world?” Naomi Klein
2016 will be a really important year in keeping up the pressure on governments to ensure that their actions match their rhetoric and the ambitions (however limited) of Paris.
Three weeks after the end of the Paris climate talks and as parts of the North begin to recover from over one month of flooding, we enter January looking back and forward and asking, ‘What next?’
On Thursday 21st January we’ll be joining the Red and Green Club in Milnsbridge for a screening (7.30 p.m.) of Naomi Klein and Avi Lewis’ film, ‘This Changes Everything’ followed by a post-screening discussion (9.00-9.30 p.m.). This Changes Everything screening poster
This Changes Everything is an epic attempt to re-imagine the vast challenge of climate change. Directed by Avi Lewis, the film presents seven powerful portraits of communities on the front lines. Throughout the film, Naomi Klein builds to her most controversial and exciting idea: that we can seize the existential crisis of climate change to transform our failed economic system into something radically better.
The shared event is free and is a Red and Green Club Film Night (held on the third Thursday of each month). Donations are welcome and will be split between Red and Green Club and ‘Matt Ridley’s Conscience’ http://endcoalnow.com/ .
We’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas in the post-screening discussion.
