Arctic Vigil bears witness to the Climate Emergency

Thank you to everyone who came to the Arctic vigil.

We were delighted with the turnout of between twenty five and thirty people to bear witness to the September sea ice extent minimum, the plight of the Greenpeace’s Arctic 30 and the release of the IPCC report.

People responded well to the range of activities including readings, group discussion activities and even a sing-song!

We’ll put more photographs from the event on this page in due course (please see the end of the page).

Don’t forget to check out all the ‘Reclaim Power’ (Reclaim Power Month Flyer) events in Kirklees over the next month to learn about and take action for fairer and cleaner energy that won’t cost the earth!

If you’d like to have a look at any of the materials that we used in the vigil, we have them in a ‘Run your own arctic vigil’ pack for other groups to use
